Day 1 - Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali international airport you will be welcomed by your guide and then transferred to Nyungwe Forest National park, where you can relax at your lodge taking in the beautiful surroundings of central Africa’s largest montane forrest.

Day 2 - Chimp Tracking

After your early breakfast you will set off tracking Man’s closest relative, the Chimpanzee. You will get up close and personal with these magnificent great apes in their natural habitat. Whilst in the forest you can also encounter a selection of Nyungwe’s impressive 300 bird species and 12 other primate species.

Day 3 - Relax on Lake Kivu

Relax and take in the scenery at Kibuye on Lake Kivu

In the morning you have the option of going on an additional forest walk to try and spot more on Nyungwe’s magnificent wildlife and spend more time in the mighty jungle, before your transfer to kabuye on the banks of the breath-taking Lake Kivu.

Day 4 - Transfer to Volcano’s National Park

Day 5 - Gorilla Trekking

Gorilla Trekking

After an early breakfast you will set off towards what will undoubtably be one of the highlights of your safari, the unfogettable experience that is Mountain Gorilla tracking. After trekking through the dense forrest to where the Gorillas were found the day before, you begin your tracking, searching for the largest primate in the world. Upon sighting them, you will stay with them for one hour as they eat, rest and bond with their young.

Day 6 - Kigali City Tour

On your last day in Rwanda you will transfer back to the capital, Kigali, to take in the sights and sounds on a city tour, the highlight of which is visiting the emotinally moving genocide memorial. All this before catching your evening flight home.
