Day 6 - Day of Gorilla Tracking

Today is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. After an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, you will begin your gorilla tracking adventure. The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, allowing access to tourists. There are less than 800 mountain gorillas left in the world and the beauty of this rain forest is spectacular. The tracking time varies with the movements of these great primates and can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 6-7 hours. Once you reach the gorilla family, you can spend one hour with them. The feeling of being in the middle of the rainforest surrounded by these peaceful creatures is indescribable and one you will never forget. If your gorilla tracking is short, there are other activities, which can be enjoyed during the afternoon. These may include bike riding or a community walk to a local school and hospital. During the community walk you will be taken to the home of pygmies (forest people) who were relocated from the forest when Bwindi became a national park. You will learn the process of making local brew and a traditional healer will explain some of the medicinal plants used for different diseases. Overnight Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 7 - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Kampala

Return to Kampala with great memories of moments spent with the fascinating Mountain Gorillas. On route, you will stop at the Equator to take photos. If we reach Kampala in time, you will have the opportunity to watch Uganda’s most famous troupe dancing at Ndere Cultural Centre.
